Becoming A Contestant
The Miss Alabama's Outstanding Teen Pageant invites interested young women between the ages of 13 and 17 to consider becoming a contestant.  Contestants may enter at-large or by winning a local preliminary pageant that sends their
winner to the state pageant.  Participating in a local preliminary pageant is an effective way to gain experience, hone your talents and skills, and compete in the
state pageant free of charge.

The contestant must be a resident or student in the State of Alabama for at least six months prior to the first local or state competition.

Participation in the Miss Alabama's Outstanding Teen program provides a unique opprotunity for young ladies to gain both the life skills and
college tuition scholarship assistance.

Contestant must be a minimum of thirteen (13) years of age on the first day of the State competition.

Contestant may not have graduated from high school before the Miss America's Outstanding Teen National Finals, except for 16 year olds (or younger) who graduated early.

Contestant may not turn eighteen (18) years of age on or before July 31 of the year of the National Finals in which
she will compete.

Contestant may not be eligible to compete in the Miss America Pageant the year they compete in the
Nationals of the Teen Pageant.
